Press Quotes

"Even among more famous, high achieving string quartets this one is a standout. Exhilaratingly polished performances." (Los Angeles Times)

Acclaimed for "polish and expressive depth at least equal to the world's most highly regarded quartets" (Atlanta Constitution), and as a "string quartet with passionate powers" (Berliner Morgenpost), the members of the Amati Quartet from Zurich "project a sense of vibrant involvement; the music flows out of them with natural spontaneity" (Strings).

Having studied with the Amadeus Quartet, the group has become a tight, homogeneous ensemble with a broad sound palette and dynamic range. The group regularly appears at some of Europe's most prestigious concert series and festivals and tours in Asia and in North America, where it has performed at the Kennedy Center, Weill Recital Hall, the Frick Collection and at chamber music series in Cincinnati, Atlanta, Chicago, Los Angeles, Toronto, Vancouver, and Mexico City. Upcoming will be invitations to among others Nuernberg, to the Paris Opera, to Vaduz, and the Menuhin Festival in Gstaad. The quartet has gained great experience in the quartet literature from the beginning to today, and has performed many world premieres. The ensemble has numerous recordings to its credit, and has been twice awarded the Prize of the German Record Reviewers and the Choc du monde de la musique.
