A fusion of diverse genres and stunning depth of sound are the trademarks of the Alliage Quintet from Germany. Four saxophones team up with a piano to create a new sound, extraordinary realms of music marked by a perfectly balanced style of playing. "This saxophone ensemble unites two things- charm and perfection. In the opinion of the Suedkurier, "the five artists dazzle at the peak of musicianship. They play with breathtaking virtuosity, absolute power and exhibit a drive which simply astonishes." The Alliage Quintet showcases its unique repertoire in major concerts hall throughout Germany, Asia, and North America. It has appeared at Leipzig Gewandhaus, the Munich Gasteig, the Philharmonie in Cologne, Stuttgart, Luxembourg, and Yerevan It has been invited to perform at the Festival de Launadiere, the Bolzano Festival, the International Istanbul Festival, Lucerne Festival and the Beethoven Fest Bonn as well as at festivals in Amsterdam, Paris, Antwerp, Palma de Mallorca and Korea among others. The ensemble has now released a total of four CDs. For its "Una voce poco fa" CD, the Alliage Quintet won an ECHO Classic award in 2005.
